JUMP, JUMP … Wait Don’t Quit Your Day Job

8/21/2013

You think you’re ready? You’ve been doing this for a while and perhaps you have paying customers and things are going
great.  Before you JUMP into your business FULL TIME let’s look at some of the questions

1.      How much are you making as a percentage of your day job?
2.      How is the income trending from your  small business? Is it a steady income or sporadic?

Deciding when to quit your day job is a serious decision and  there any many factors that need to be considered before you make that JUMP.

One of the things to look at is how much are you making as a  percentage of your day job? For example do you make $60,000 (yr.) at your  present employment and income from your business is equal to $30,000 a year?
This would require a serious life  style change and a big sacrifice. Or perhaps you make $35,000 a year and the
income from your business is $40,000. It would seem as if everything would be  great.

Here are some more questions for you BEFORE you tell your  company exactly what you think:

 1.     Are  you customers regular? And dependable?
2.     Is  your income residual? Meaning if you’re not actively selling something will you still have income from your product or  service?
3.      Will  you be able to pay your bills from your  business?

If you can answer YES to all of these questions- CONGRATULATIONS  you are on your way.

However, if you are like most startups your customer base is not  solid just yet; at best you have a few clients perhaps every 6 to 8   months.

Starting your own business of nonprofit can be an extremely  exciting time nonetheless; you want to be careful about how soon you quit your  day job to pursue your business full time.

I love to share information and make sure everyone can make an  informed decision. If you are just not sure where to go from here or if you are  wondering exactly what do I need to do about those sporadic clients- contact
Waddell Consulting Services today for your FREE 30 MINUTE  CONSULTATION.

How many have us have said any of the following? :

·         I want everything to be perfect

·         I am a perfectionist and if it’s not perfect then I can’t do it?

·         I need to have everything done before I ask someone to help me

Often times, using the statements above is just an excuse for not accomplish something, it is a fear of actually having to do something and then to be criticized for what you have done.

I can absolutely guarantee you that you will never start! Perfect, when you’re starting a business or a nonprofit, does not exist.

Whenever we start something we have to be open to making mistakes and accepting that things may be less perfect. The important part is just STARTING!

Waddell Consulting Services can help you get started and understand that you can achieve goals on your way to perfect.

What If I have NO Money?

8/6/2013

Great questions and I am glad you asked! There is so much you need to do first before you actually need money! The majority of it will be sweat equity!

Let me explain it like this when you look at your local grocery store what do you see? The groceries? The cashiers, the signs etc. . . . What you don’t see is the work that has happened behind the scenes to make all of that possible. The same is true for you as a new business owner or someone who wants to start a nonprofit.

First, thing you need to do is decide what you want to do; remember the list I asked that you create? Once you have decided what you want to do with your passion.  Now  you’re ready for another ACTION STEP!

Second, is deciding what type of business entity is best for you; for profit or not for profit (nonprofit). Which one is better suited to provide your service to your potential customer?

Next, is gathering the necessary information together to create your vision and dream and make it a reality!

The entire process, depending on how committed you are to achieving your goal could take 6 to 12 months.

Sounds simple enough?

I will share a very valuable lesson with you:

Yes it is simple enough; I have it in three easy steps HOWEVER, you must stay dedicated, motivated and focused on your end goal.  CONSISTENCY IS CRITICAL!

Now you are telling yourself I can do that ! ABSOLUTELY you can. So what do you need Waddell Consulting Services for?

You need Waddell Consulting Services for those times when you can’t find the answer, when your resolve to continue is zero or when you are simply lost and confused among the paperwork and what steps really do come next.

It never hurts to ask and have a trusted advisor on your side when you are making serious life decisions.

Contact Waddell Consulting Services today for your FREE 30 MINUTE CONSULTATION and let me give some clarity and ease for you along your journey of becoming the best business owner and community outreach program!

Working Nine to Midnight

Alright so you have made the leap and decide that you are  officially going to become a business owner.  Now that the idea is a reality what do you do now?   WORK and more WORK!!!

I want to make sure that you understand the amount of work that  it will take to achieve your dream!

There will be long hours and sacrifices to be made. Once you are  committed to making your dreams a reality it is no longer work!

Here are a couple questions for  you:

How hard do you work for your current employer?
How dedicated are you to that organizations mission and vision?
Do you often work long hours?
Does your pay equal the work that you  do?

WHY NOT WORK THAT HARD FOR YOURSELF!

Simple enough right? Unfortunately, many will never work harder  for themselves than they do for their employer.  I suggest committing at least; in the beginning, one hour three times a week to working on your business.

Why this length of time? Because it’s not overwhelming and if  you’re dedicated you will increase it on your own.

Working for yourself means when you’re tired you work,  when you’re sleepy you work, when
you want a vacation you still work.

Let Waddell Consulting Services help you by first taking a look  at your idea, second, let WCS help you understand what is realistic for
you to  accomplish and last be that support system that you need when you have more  questions than answers.

Contact Waddell Consulting Services for your Free Consultation  Today! You can book your appointment on line and your half way  there !

I look forward to working with you achieve your dreams !!!

SHOW ME THE MONEY

7/31/2013

Entrepreneurship is an amazing thing. It is time consuming, requires dedication and sacrifice AND it requires money!

First, let me start by just stating some obvious  facts:

 ·     You  cannot receive money for a business – IF YOU NEVER SET UP A  BUSINESS
 ·     Money  is NOT going to drop out of the sky into your  lap
 ·     Finding  a grant is HARD work and it doesn’t stop with just one – you have to keep  looking

Now that I have your attention let me explain a few things:   Before you can start making money you do have to have some type of structure in place to receive the money you  want to make.

Would you give money to someone who asked for it but had no proof that they were actually a legal business?

I always get a question that starts out…I want you to find me a grant to open my business. My answer will always be absolutely! However, are you willing to do the work and pay the fees that it cost to set up a non-profit?   If
the answer is YES then we have a great starting point.  If the answer is fees? Work? Then we need to start at the beginning!

REMEMBER:
No one can promise you that they will get receive grant money UNLESS they are actually giving you the money!

If you have been trying to do this on your own and it’s been over a year and still no progress then you need to contact Waddell  Consulting Services!

Let me take a look at what has already been established and give you some direction on where you need to go. OR if you just have the ideas and the thought of not having  money has stopped you from going any further…

Welcome to Waddell Consulting  Services

let me introduce myself and provide you with some background about who I am and  how Waddell Consulting Services came to be. Finally I will provide you with some  questions to think about whether you want to start a business or a non-profit.

My name is
J’Anmetra (pronounced Yanmetra) and I  have been helping friends and families for years achieve their dreams of being a  business owner. I started out in the Non Profit sector by volunteering with a  local organization. Eventually I moved up to become a Board Member and wrote the  vision for the organization to obtain my Middle School. That vision now hangs  outside my 5th grade  classroom.

My passion for assisting other people has blossomed  into
Waddell Consulting Services.  I love to work with people and guide them along the process of starting their  own business. My clients have been as close as North Carolina as far as  California and Haiti. I can help you understand which type of business is best  suited for you and in which direction you need to go. My coaching sessions are  tailored towards what you want to accomplish and in a timely frame so that you  can achieve your dream.

I offer personal (one-on-one) and group training,  seminars, interactive workshops that can be conducted off site or at your  location.

Contact me today for a FREE  30 minute consultation.

Below are a few questions to  consider:

     ·      Why  am I starting a business?
     ·      What  kind of business do I want?
     ·      Am  I prepared to spend the time, money and resources needed to get my business  started?
     ·      What  products/services will my business provide?

I live by the quote, “Don’t Let What You Cannot  Do Interfere with What you Can Do” by John Wooden. Let me take care of what you  don’t do so you can concentrate on what you do know! Together we can make your  dream a reality!

I look forward to helping  you:

    ·     Transform  your idea into reality
    ·    Achieve  goals that are specific to helping you live out your vision
    ·     Develop  systems and strategies that will set a strong foundation
    ·     Bridge  the gap from your potential to realization

Contact me today so that we can begin your journey to where you want to be.
