Ideas are Welcome

Make Your Dreams A Reality.  . . . But First You Have To Do the  Work

10/22/2013

How many of us have ready the opening of a blog, email or  envelope that promises you that in  30 days we can be wealthy and have our  own business?

I know I have read one just  yesterday!

So here is the deal- it is not going to happen in 30 days.  Making your dreams a reality is going to take work, focus, work, concentration  and did I mention WORK !!!!

This how it works, you have a great idea and you want to make it  into a business, or turn a profit on it, or you want to start a nonprofit so  that you can help other people. Great!! Now it is time to put all those ideas on  paper and really decide what direction you want to go in.

Ideas are great- but until they become reality- they are just  ideas.

You have to want your dream or idea so bad that it is all you  want to work on or think about and talk about. You will not mind putting in the  work that is required.

If you find yourself making excuses as to why you can’t work on  your business then you may not be ready to make your dream a reality.

When you’re truly ready- you will make no excuses- you will find  answers!

Dreams + Work = Reality

Response to Questions

Thank you to everyone that emailed your questions in! I greatly  appreciate it. I thought I  would share some of the questions that I received the names have been omitted!

Do you really have experience helping people start their own business?

Yes! I have helped friends and families for over 10 years  in some form or fashion understand their passion and turn it into a business or help them set  up a non-profit.

I’m afraid to start my business- exactly what is my first step?

Being afraid is OK it is when you let that fear STOP  YOU- that is NOT  OKAY. The first step is to call for your FREE 30 MINUTE CONSULTATION. Always put  your ideas on paper! It is easier to keep up with and it makes it a reality when
you see it written down.

I just need to find a grant that is going to give me money to fix my house and maybe go back to
school.

Researching for a grant is easy. Applying for a  grant and actually receiving one is NOT EASY. There are a ton
of grants out there that may help you do what you would like to do  HOWEVER; you must do the ground work
FIRST. Meaning you have to be willing to do the work required for the grant.

My friends are always asking for me to “hook them up".

Well if you continue to ‘hook up’ your friends they are the only ones  benefiting from your hard work!  At some point you have ask yourself the  question why are you just giving your information away?

I really want to start something but I don’t have the money and I  have can’t afford to pay someone to help me.

There are things you can do first. For example your business plan, organizing your thoughts  and ideas of how you want to run the business what product or services you are  going to offer. All the while you can be saving for the things that you will need money for  (i.e. licenses, forms, and applications).

These are just a few of the great questions that I received.

I ask that you do just one thing before the day ends….OR before your begin  your day

Take a pen and paper and write down ONE THING that you are going to  DO DIFFERENTLY TODAY THAN YOU DID YESTERDAY! It can be as small or as  big as you choose. For some saying fewer curse words than the day before or
perhaps, not complaining the first 10 minutes you’re at work.

I promise if you do this exercise every day you will start to notice change  in your thinking, your attitude and most of all your ACTIONS!

JUMP, JUMP … Wait Don’t Quit Your Day Job

8/21/2013

You think you’re ready? You’ve been doing this for a while and perhaps you have paying customers and things are going
great.  Before you JUMP into your business FULL TIME let’s look at some of the questions

1.      How much are you making as a percentage of your day job?
2.      How is the income trending from your  small business? Is it a steady income or sporadic?

Deciding when to quit your day job is a serious decision and  there any many factors that need to be considered before you make that JUMP.

One of the things to look at is how much are you making as a  percentage of your day job? For example do you make $60,000 (yr.) at your  present employment and income from your business is equal to $30,000 a year?
This would require a serious life  style change and a big sacrifice. Or perhaps you make $35,000 a year and the
income from your business is $40,000. It would seem as if everything would be  great.

Here are some more questions for you BEFORE you tell your  company exactly what you think:

 1.     Are  you customers regular? And dependable?
2.     Is  your income residual? Meaning if you’re not actively selling something will you still have income from your product or  service?
3.      Will  you be able to pay your bills from your  business?

If you can answer YES to all of these questions- CONGRATULATIONS  you are on your way.

However, if you are like most startups your customer base is not  solid just yet; at best you have a few clients perhaps every 6 to 8   months.

Starting your own business of nonprofit can be an extremely  exciting time nonetheless; you want to be careful about how soon you quit your  day job to pursue your business full time.

I love to share information and make sure everyone can make an  informed decision. If you are just not sure where to go from here or if you are  wondering exactly what do I need to do about those sporadic clients- contact
Waddell Consulting Services today for your FREE 30 MINUTE  CONSULTATION.

How many have us have said any of the following? :

·         I want everything to be perfect

·         I am a perfectionist and if it’s not perfect then I can’t do it?

·         I need to have everything done before I ask someone to help me

Often times, using the statements above is just an excuse for not accomplish something, it is a fear of actually having to do something and then to be criticized for what you have done.

I can absolutely guarantee you that you will never start! Perfect, when you’re starting a business or a nonprofit, does not exist.

Whenever we start something we have to be open to making mistakes and accepting that things may be less perfect. The important part is just STARTING!

Waddell Consulting Services can help you get started and understand that you can achieve goals on your way to perfect.

What If I have NO Money?

8/6/2013

Great questions and I am glad you asked! There is so much you need to do first before you actually need money! The majority of it will be sweat equity!

Let me explain it like this when you look at your local grocery store what do you see? The groceries? The cashiers, the signs etc. . . . What you don’t see is the work that has happened behind the scenes to make all of that possible. The same is true for you as a new business owner or someone who wants to start a nonprofit.

First, thing you need to do is decide what you want to do; remember the list I asked that you create? Once you have decided what you want to do with your passion.  Now  you’re ready for another ACTION STEP!

Second, is deciding what type of business entity is best for you; for profit or not for profit (nonprofit). Which one is better suited to provide your service to your potential customer?

Next, is gathering the necessary information together to create your vision and dream and make it a reality!

The entire process, depending on how committed you are to achieving your goal could take 6 to 12 months.

Sounds simple enough?

I will share a very valuable lesson with you:

Yes it is simple enough; I have it in three easy steps HOWEVER, you must stay dedicated, motivated and focused on your end goal.  CONSISTENCY IS CRITICAL!

Now you are telling yourself I can do that ! ABSOLUTELY you can. So what do you need Waddell Consulting Services for?

You need Waddell Consulting Services for those times when you can’t find the answer, when your resolve to continue is zero or when you are simply lost and confused among the paperwork and what steps really do come next.

It never hurts to ask and have a trusted advisor on your side when you are making serious life decisions.

Contact Waddell Consulting Services today for your FREE 30 MINUTE CONSULTATION and let me give some clarity and ease for you along your journey of becoming the best business owner and community outreach program!

Procrastination is Fear of Failure

7/29/2013

Have you ever had the following  thoughts?
  ·     One day I  am going to shock everybody with my great  ideas….
  ·      I would  start today BUT I am so tired from work  ….
  ·      After the  kids go to bed that’s my only time to  relax
  ·     One day  I’m going to start that business as soon as I get the  money

Well I am here to tell you NONE  of those things will help you accomplish your dreams and most of all you will
NEVER be in business for yourself!!

At  some point you have to be honest with yourself and realize that ACTION  ALWAYS BEATS INTENTION and that you have to STOP  UNDERESTIMATING  YOURSELF.

I have been there and I understand completely the overwhelming  feeling you can have just thinking about what you need to do- although you may  have no idea what it is you really need to do!!!  Does this sound  familiar?

Contact Waddell Consulting Services and let me help you  understand what you need to do first. Often we can let fear stop us from  achieving our goals.

Procrastination is  just that fear!  It only takes you  deciding that today you will do something to make that dream a reality!

I firmly believe that if you just do ONE  THING DIFFERENT than you did from yesterday you will achieve your
goals.

Below are a few questions to  consider:

     ·      Why  am I starting a business?
     ·      What  kind of business do I want?
     ·      Am  I prepared to spend the time, money and resources needed to get my business  started?
     ·      What  products/services will my business provide?

I live by the quote, “Don’t Let What You Cannot  Do Interfere with What you Can Do” by John Wooden. Let me take care of what you  don’t do so you can concentrate on what you do know! Together we can make your  dream a reality!

I look forward to helping  you:
